Do you have a PC sitting idle much of the time? Let it help fight childhood cancer

Wednesday, February 15, 2012 was International Childhood Cancer Day. International Childhood Cancer Day was established in 2002, by the International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organizations, to raise public awareness throughout the world about childhood cancer. Sadly, each year 175,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer, of which an estimated 90,000 will die from the disease.
As an photographer and IT guy I have a server, workstation and laptop that often have some resources spare. World Community Grid is a organisation that creates packages of medial research data for your PC to download and process while it’s idle. They’re running a project designed to help find a treatment for childhood cancer. It is called Help Fight Childhood Cancer. If you can, do join in.

Thoughts of extending my wedding photography into something that encompasses whole family photography were seeded back in 2009 while reviewing some of my personal image archives. I have many photographs of my daughter from when she was young and able to walk, run, jump, sing and dance around. I thought back to those early years with fond memories. You’ll hear countless parents say “They grow up so fast!” and it’s all to too true.
